Flashback: In 1989, Regine Velasquez was chosen to represent the Philippines in the Asia-Pacific Singing Contest held in Hong Kong. In Dececember 23, 1989, She won the grand prize with "You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel and "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls. After the competition, media started calling her "Asia's Songbird".
