Regine Velasquez Updates (Last Week of January)

Blog Widget by LinkWithin
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid on her voice after giving birth: "You know, it's a good thing doing yoga before and after giving birth kasi hindi ako nanibago. Iyon yung importante. Kasi yung pagbuga mo ng boses, iyon yung importante, e. So, I'm really okay naman.

FIRST CONCERT AS MARRIED COUPLE.

"Hindi, kasi first of all, we haven't been working in a concert together in a long while, after nag-asawa kami.

"Actually, yung ano namin, yung [last] concert namin, hindi pa kami umaaamin nun, e, di ba? Yung Songbird and the Songwriter [2004].

"Tagal na nun, e!"

Ikinasal sina Regine at Ogie noong December 22, 2010.

Patuloy pa ng Asia's Songbird, "Exciting ngayon, kasi nga, it was my idea to do a concert talaga.

"Yung husband ko, sabi niya, 'Are you sure? Kasi kakapanganak mo pa lang.'

"Sabi ko, 'But I want to talaga kasi I miss it.'

"And that's the whole idea, na after giving birth, 'tapos mag-asawa na kami, we have a child, parang...

"Iyon yung kaibahan, kasi it's exciting and then we're working together.

"Mas personal ngayon, e, unlike before yung concert namin, parang...wala lang.

"Ngayon kasi, it's more personal.

"And I hope that our audience will appreciate it kasi, yun na nga, mas makikita nila yung other side of Ogie and myself."

THE VOICE. May napansin ba siyang pagbabago sa boses niya matapos niyang manganak?

"You know, it's a good thing doing yoga before and after giving birth kasi hindi ako nanibago.

Iyon yung importante.

"Kasi yung pagbuga mo ng boses, iyon yung importante, e.

"So, I'm really okay naman.

"Yung tone ko, medyo parang mas manipis than before."

So, thank God for yoga.

MEETING DAVID ARCHULETA.

He has such a nice voice!"

"E, kasi gusto niya daw kami ma-meet. Parang ganun.

"'Tapos, 'kinukuwento niya sa akin, when he was 16 daw, first time niyang nakita sa Internet, sa YouTube...

"Kasi, parang isa ako sa parang nasa unahang ano, so klinik niya ako and I was singing 'Butterfly.'

"'Tapos, ever since daw, he kept on...paulit-ulit-ulit-ulit-ulit-ulit daw niyang pinapakinggan yung version ko.

"'Tapos, he kept watching daw other videos of mine.

"So, even before Idol, natutuwa na daw siya sa akin.

"Sabi niya, 'Yeah I know, where's the baby?'

"Ikinukuwento niya kung paano niya ako na-discover, kasi nagtataka ako, 'How come you know me?' 'Tapos pati si Ogie."

Nag-jamming pa nga raw silang tatlo ng kanta kagabi.

"Oo, tuwang-tuwa siya."

"Wherever You Are" daw ang kinanta nina Regine at David.

'Tapos parang Pinoy.

"'Tapos, sabi ko sa kanya, 'Who taught you how to ano...'

"Sabi nung RM [road manager] niya, 'No one, no one taught him.'

"Meron daw siyang coach when he was going to record it, pero konting-konti lang yung kinorek.

"Nakakatuwa nga, e, kasi he also knows na Ogie and I are actors here.

"Sabi niya, 'Really, you have a concert? It would have been nice to watch!'

IZA'S TRANSFER.

"I've been asking my husband, sabi ko 'Hon...' I mean, I'm not asking, but I kept telling him na 'Lumipat daw si Iza sa Channel 2.'

"Sabi niya, 'Ay naku, matagal na 'yan.'

"'They kept saying that,' sabi ko.

Oh, my God!

Regine Velasquez welcomes motherhood with open arms!

Two months after she gave birth, Regine Velasquez is up and about. She will be performing in a Valentine concert with husband Ogie Alcasid. She made her first public appearance in a press conference where she shared her joy of being a first-time mom.

Regine enthused, “I was scheduled to have a check-up. But the doctor told me, kailangan ng ilabas ang baby. I called Ogie at natawa pa nga kami kasi kinabahan siya because he was not with me and he was taping but nevertheless, he came over.” Nervous, Regine tried to be calm. “Ogie was trying to distract me. He was trying to be funny the whole time because he knew I was nervous.” When Baby Nate came out, Regine waited for her baby to cry.

Baby Nate is now Regine’s top most priority. “When I was pregnant people would always tell me that having a baby would change my life. I had no idea. It is wonderful.” Regine said that all she can think of now is her baby. “You just can’t leave. Ano ang kakainin ni baby. Nakakatuwa. We are both blessed kasi mabait yong baby. He is a good boy.”

She is hands on when it comes to her son. Nathaniel James was baptized in St. John Bosco Parish Church in Makati City with 10 sets of godparents including Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., Rep. Manny Pacquiao, GMA president and CEO Jimmy Duavit, Dingdong Dantes, Raul Mitra, Ben Chan, Kris Aquino, Judy Ann Santos, Cacai Velasquez, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Michelle van Eimeren Murrow. He will be baptized again in a Christian ceremony.

Celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid are a picture of proud parents as their first born son got baptised on Sunday.

In an interview with “The Buzz,” Alcasid revealed that it was their decision to have baby Nate christened in a Catholic and a Christian church.

Alcasid said baby Nate has 10 sets of god parents in his Catholic baptism while he has three sets of god parents in the Christian offering.

According to Velasquez, they chose their closest friends from show business including actor Dingdong Dantes and actress Kris Aquino to be baby Nate’s second parents.

Meanwhile, the couple also answered questions whether they will allow their son to have commercials.

“We’re still deciding kung gusto naming tanggapin kasi ang liit pa niya eh. Hindi pa kami nagde-decide. Napag-usapan na namin pero hindi pa kami nagde-decide,” the Asia’s Songbird said.

Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid Introduce Son Nathaniel James to the Press, Celebrating his Christening Today!

Welcome to the Christian World Nathaniel James Velasquez Alcasid! Greet Here!

Regine Velasquez on being a mom: "Hindi ko akalaing mababago pala talaga nang bonggang-bongga! She wants this total focus to last until Nate is one year old.

And I have very little milk.   "For about three weeks, bumibili ako ng breast milk sa breast-milk bank ba yun? "Iyon pala, it's one of the hardest. "You feel inadequate." And he did.

THANKS TO OGIE. Sabi ni Ogie, "Si Regine naman kasi, if she wants to focus on something, nagagawa naman niya, e.   "Yung pag-iiyak niya, hindi naman out of depression yun, e.

"I love it actually.   "And as much as possible talaga, I don't wanna bother him kasi nakikita mo naman pagod, e.   "So, parang common sense na lang yun.   "And right now naman, my network [GMA-7], our network is very really understanding.   "So, hindi pa nila ako ino-offer-an ng kahit ano.   "And I'm hoping na hindi na muna, para I can take care of our baby hanggang sana mag-one year old.   "But yung ibang job, like hosting job and all that, Party Pilipinas, I can do that."

NATE'S BAPTISM.

Mr. & Mrs A Press Conference & Baby Nate's Baptism Updates

CLICK ME for more photos...
After fielding questions during the print-media portion of her first post-natal presscon with husband Ogie Alcasid yesterday at Cravings (Roces Ave. off Tomas Morato Ave., Quezon City) and before the round of TV interviews, Regine Velasquez excused herself to breastfeed their two-month-old son Nathaniel (nicknamed Nate like the son of Krista Ranillo and Niño Jefferson Lim).
“I’ve been breastfeeding Nate since his birth,” volunteered Regine. Nate weighed a little more than four pounds at birth and now weighs twice as heavy.
“Thanks to Regine’s milk,” said Ogie who, since he has two daughters with ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren (who is based in Australia with her new husband, fellow Aussie Mark Burrow, and daughters Leila and Sarah), is more experienced than Regine in caring for a baby. “When I change Nate’s diapers, sandali lang.

The presscon for the couple’s Valentine concert Mr. & Mrs. A. on Feb. 14 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum (produced by Star-Media, with Dingdong Dantes, Vice Ganda, Angeline Quinto and Kyla as guest performers, directed by Randy Santiago) was light and breezy, altogether free-wheeling, when the topic veered towards the couple’s parenting style.
Now, did you know that Regine has named her breasts “Susan” and “Amalia” (without saying who’s left and who’s right)?
Asked “who” is Nate’s favorite to suck on, Regine said still in jest, “Kay Susan,” generating laughter from the crowd.
“I want to breastfeed Nate for as long as I can; ayokong mag-shift to formula kaagad.”

There’s a Filipino kaugalian (custom) that before the baby, it should be the husband who should first suck its mom’s breast.
“I forgot to do that,” admitted Ogie.
“I think that is so that the mother’s milk will flow freely kasi mas malakas dumede ang father,” explained Regine.
During her pregnancy, Regine weighed more than 190 lbs., and thanks to Yoga she has so far shed 30 lbs. but has to get rid of more than 30 lbs. more to get back to her ideal weight.
“I can do rigorous workout,” said Regine who underwent Caesarian section. “My doctor advised me not to. Instead, one week after giving birth, I decided to take Yoga.”
Thankfully, her current weight doesn’t affect her singing.
“My doctor assured me that after six weeks, my surgical wound would start to heal,” added Regine, not even if she resorts to her birit style.

It’s also her avoirdupois that’s preventing her from making a comeback, although she will appear only as “guest” (and as co-host of Ogie, et al) on the GMA show Party Pilipinas one of these Sundays to promote their Valentine show.
“Mabuti na lang my bosses are not pressuring me to go back,” said Regine. “Sana hindi muna ako bigyan ng offer at least for a year because I want to concentrate on raising Nate.”

Among her projects on hold is her movie with Aga Muhlach (who himself has shed considerable poundage), which has shot for several days but is in danger of being totally revised because, as Regine simply put it, “we look differently now from how we did at that time.” The shoot has been postponed several times because Regine and Aga’s schedule just wouldn’t jibe, both of them being then busy with other projects.

Meanwhile, Regine contents herself with by being mother to Nate and wife to Ogie who doesn’t mind working, as usual, oftentimes until the wee hours when he comes home tired.

“Sometimes,” related Regine, “Nate sleeps with us. Kabisado ko na ang feeding time niya. Si Ogie, no matter how busy or how tired he is, nakukuha pa niyang maging hands-on father. Kapag basa si Nate, I would wake him (Ogie) up at siya ang nagpapalit ng lampin.”

Nate will have a “special participation” in his parents’ concert but Regine was mum on what it will be. The guess is that Ogie will dedicate a song to Nate while film photos of different stages of the boy’s growth are flashed on the monitor onstage.

On Sunday, Nate will be baptized in Catholic rites, to be followed later on by his dedication in Christian rites.
Asked how he preferred to be called, Ogie said, “I want Nate to call me Tatay. Ang sarap pakinggan ngword na Tatay.” On his GMA show Daldalita, Ogie is called Tatay by his kiddie co-star Jillian Ward.“Tumatalon ang puso ko everytime Jillian calls me Tatay.”
What about Regine?
“I don’t know about her,” said Ogie. “It’s up to her.”
And how soon will they, or can they, start working on their second baby?
“Bawal muna,” laughed Ogie. “Maybe after one year.”
Said Regine, “It’s up to Him,” looking upward, “kung ilan ang ibigay Niya sa amin.”

Mr. & Mrs. A Ogie and Regine, Talk about their Valentine's

Blog Widget by LinkWithin

Every year, Inquirer Entertainment helps readers pick a show for that special day, by asking the concert artists to talk about their gigs… and romance.

‘Mr. & Mrs. A’
Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, February 14, 8 p.m. Smart Araneta Coliseum; with guests Erik Santos, Vice Ganda and Angeline
Quinto; call 911-5555 or 854-3300.
How did you spend your very first Valentine date, who actually was your date, and what was memorable about it?
Ogie Alcasid (O): Oh my! I was 15… I visited my girlfriend in St. Scholastica and gave her roses. It was memorable because it was my first time to do that.
Regine Velasquez (R): My first real date on a Valentine’s Day was with Ogie when we watched the Peter Cetera concert at the Big Dome in 2009. It was memorable because he sang our favorite songs.

(More Concert Info: CLICK ME)

Tell us about your most unique Valentine’s Day.
O: Last year was quite unique. Regine and I spent it at home. I hired a private chef and my favorite jazz trio to play for us. Had two other couples over. It was fun and romantic.

Is Valentine’s Day overrated or does it deserve its special observance? Why?
O: I don’t think it is overrated. It’s a great day to celebrate romance with your partner.
R: I love Valentine’s Day. It’s our day!

What, in your opinion, is the most uniquely written love song and why?
O: I really like “For the First Time” by Kenny Loggins because of its lyrics: “For the first time/I am looking in your eyes/ For the first time/I am seeing who you are/Can’t believe how much I see/When you’re looking back at me/Now I understand what love is/For the first time… ”
R: Michael V’s song “Sinaksak Mo Ang Puso Ko.” It’s funny and tragic!

Why should we watch your concert?
O: It is the first time that we are doing a concert together after we got married and had a baby. It’s also Regine’s comeback show after giving birth. It celebrates romantic love, love for the family and love for your fellowmen because we are helping the Children’s Cancer Society.
R: I have been sidelined for a year to attend to something most precious to me –being a mother. This concert is our thanksgiving for that wonderful gift.
