Regine Velasquez welcomes motherhood with open arms!
Two months after she gave birth, Regine Velasquez is up and about. She will be performing in a Valentine concert with husband Ogie Alcasid. She made her first public appearance in a press conference where she shared her joy of being a first-time mom.
Regine enthused, “I was scheduled to have a check-up. But the doctor told me, kailangan ng ilabas ang baby. I called Ogie at natawa pa nga kami kasi kinabahan siya because he was not with me and he was taping but nevertheless, he came over.” Nervous, Regine tried to be calm. “Ogie was trying to distract me. He was trying to be funny the whole time because he knew I was nervous.” When Baby Nate came out, Regine waited for her baby to cry. “Noong nadinig ko yong iyak niya, umiyak na rin ako.”
Baby Nate is now Regine’s top most priority. “When I was pregnant people would always tell me that having a baby would change my life. I had no idea. Parang mas sobra pa doon sa expectations ko. It is wonderful.” Regine said that all she can think of now is her baby. “You just can’t leave. Ano ang kakainin ni baby. Nakakatuwa. We are both blessed kasi mabait yong baby. He is a good boy.”
She is hands on when it comes to her son. “Bago pa siya umiyak, inuunahan ko ng gising. Padededehin ko na.” Nathaniel James was baptized in St. John Bosco Parish Church in Makati City with 10 sets of godparents including Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., Rep. Manny Pacquiao, GMA president and CEO Jimmy Duavit, Dingdong Dantes, Raul Mitra, Ben Chan, Kris Aquino, Judy Ann Santos, Cacai Velasquez, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Michelle van Eimeren Murrow. He will be baptized again in a Christian ceremony.
