Regine Velasquez Does Her Own Wedding Makeup

The latest issue of YES! shows Regine Velasquez in her bridal dressing room, as she preps for the biggest wedding of 2010. Regine Velasquez is the new Mrs. Ogie Alcasid! At a lavish Batangas ceremony attended by movie stars, international recording artists, business bigwigs, and yes, even P-Noy himself, the couple solidified their three-year romance by finally exchanging their vows.

But it wasn’t the glitzy, star-studded wedding that Regine was most excited about—in fact, in the early stages of their engagement, she’d asked Ogie for a small, private ceremony. In the February 2011 issue of YES!, she shares, “To tell you the truth…the wedding was not a priority to me…Because in my head I was already married to [Ogie].” Still, when you’re Asia’s Songbird—and your groom is one of the most illustrious singer-songwriters in the country—paring down the long list of family, friends, and colleagues who can’t wait to see you get hitched must be a near-impossible task.

While she didn’t get the intimate wedding she’d initially planned for, Regine pretty much did things her way at her decadent December nuptials. For starters, she wore a vibrant red wedding gown (designed by Monique Lhuillier) in lieu of the traditional white. For her footwear, the songstress showcased her rakista side with black, metal-plated Chanel boots. Regine also opted to go without a bouquet—instead, she donned an elegant floral corsage designed by close friend (and Ogie’s ex-wife) Michelle Van Eimeren-Morrow.

Then, of course, there was the hair and makeup. While she did ask Celeste Tuviera of Symmetria Salon to arrange her full, flower-pinned ponytail, Regine did her own makeup, using bright red lipstick and liquid eyeliner to create a clean yet glamorous look.
