Of All The Things

After 8 years, singer-actress Regine Velasquez and Aga Muhlach, one of the country’s most sought-after leading men, are set to be reunited again on the big screen.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Muhlach and Velasquez said they are thrilled to be part of the same film again.

Velasquez, known as “Asia’s Songbird,” said that the upcoming romantic-comedy film will be directed by Joyce Bernal.

"Reunion project namin ito ni Joyce Bernal, Mel del Rosario, kami ni Aga at iyong same staff na naka-trabaho na namin before," Velasquez said.

She added: "Walang expectations. Ayoko ding magpa-pressure. Basta I'm happy to be with Aga again.”

Muhlach, for his part, said: "I feel really excited to be working with her again. It's going to be fun... masaya, masaya. Just watch out for this movie."

Under Viva Films, the newest rom-com film, with working title "Of All The Things," will be Velasquez and Muhlach's third movie together.

They were first paired in their 1998 movie “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.” Their second movie together was "Pangako Ikaw Lang" in 2001. Both films were directed by Bernal.

According to Velasquez, her latest project with Muhlach will be shown first week of November. -abs-cbnNEWS.com

Regine SOP Diary- July 26, 2009

The Bodyguard is the soundtrack from the movie of the same name, released on November 17, 1992, on Arista Records and features six songs by Whitney Houston, as well as songs from various other noted artists of the time. The album was co-executive produced by Whitney Houston and Clive Davis. Upon the sixth week after its release, the soundtrack became the first album to sell more than a million copies in a single week. The soundtrack later went on to win a Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it 17x Platinum on November 1, 1999, denoting shipments of 17 million copies in the United States - which officially made it the best-selling soundtrack album of all-time in the U.S.[1] It has sold over 42 million copies, and is the best-selling soundtrack of all time worldwide.

Track listing

1. "I Will Always Love You" - Whitney Houston (Parton)
2. "I Have Nothing" - Whitney Houston (Foster/Thompson-Jenner)
3. "I'm Every Woman" - Whitney Houston (Ashford/Simpson)

10. "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding" - Curtis Stigers (Lowe)

12. "Trust in Me" - Joe Cocker featuring Sass Jordan (Beghe/Midnight/Swersky)

Whitney Houston

I Will Always Love You

"I Will Always Love You" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton in 1973, who first released the song as a single in 1974. American singer Whitney Houston's (1992) version of the song became one of the best-selling singles of all time.

In 1992 singer Whitney Houston covered the song for the soundtrack to The Bodyguard her film debut. The song was also referenced in the plot of the film itself.
"I Will Always Love You" is a song written and originally performed by American country singer-songwriter Dolly Parton (first released as a single in 1974) and then most famously recorded by American singer Whitney Houston.
The song is generally considered Houston's signature song. It is one of the most covered songs ever written and it remains one of the most popular songs of all time.

Run to You

"Run to You" is a song performed by Whitney Houston and is the fourth single released from The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album.

"Run to You" was written by Jud Friedman and Allan Rich. Originally intended to be a break-up song, it was approved by the production and stars. However, a month later, the director of The Bodyguard (Mick Jackson) called, saying he liked the song so much, but he'd rather have it to be a love song so the entire song was rewritten, except for the title.

All of the previous releases from The Bodyguard had been successes, landing in the top five. "Run to You" became a moderate hit, peaking at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the U.S., it spent six weeks inside the top 40, five of which were spent at the number 31 peak. Airplay and singles sales topped out at number 26 and 41, respectively. The single sales stalled at number 41 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart, most likely due to the fact its parent album, The Bodyguard, already was certified 8x platinum and nearing 9x platinum status quickly. Single sales were moderate because most consumers own the song by simply owning the album.

On other Billboard charts, the song was moderately well received. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, it reached a peak position of number 31. The song cracked the top 10 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, peaking at number 10.

Internationally, it was not as well received, except in the UK, peaking at number 15.

"Run to You" and it's soundtrack-mate "I Have Nothing," were nominated for a 1992 Academy Award for Best Original Song, but they lost to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.

The music video for "Run to You" features scenes from The Bodyguard intercut with scenes of an angelic Houston running on clouds.

I Have Nothing

"I Have Nothing" is a song by American singer Whitney Houston and is the third single released from The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album.

Written by David Foster and Linda Thompson, the song is a richly orchestrated power ballad about deep love and commitment to one's lover, through lines such as "I don't want to go where you don't follow" and "Stay in my arms if you dare/ or must I imagine you there/ Don't walk away from me/ I have nothing, nothing, nothing if I don't have you."

As of most of Houston's material, this song has been an extremely popular choice on the reality television series American Idol. It is one of the most performed songs on American Idol, with six times, tied for first place alongside Phil Collins's "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)" and Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me."

After the back to back successes of Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and "I'm Every Woman," The Bodyguard soundtrack album had become a massive international success. "I Have Nothing" became yet another hit, peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and being certified gold by the RIAA.

On secondary charts, the song became a hit with a number 1 peak (for 2 weeks) on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks and a number 4 peak on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Internationally, the song performed well in the UK (peaking at number 3) and hit the top twenty in a few other markets; but performed moderately in Australia (number 28), Germany (number 39), and Switzerland (number 39). Remarkably, for the weeks on the Billboard chart ending March 13 and March 20, Houston had three 3 songs in the Top 11: "I Will Always Love You," "I'm Every Woman," and "I Have Nothing;" all from her Bodyguard soundtrack.

The song received nominations for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, and for a 1994 Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B Single - Female, although not winning either nomination.

The music video (directed by Steve Barron), shows Houston performing the song to an audience in a dining room hall. The video is intercut with scenes from The Bodyguard.

REGINE, is that you??

There are many impersonators of different divas whether internationally or locally. Whether they try to copy the looks, the voice or both.

Impersonators entertain us in such a different way and it's hard especially through comedy but amaze us that they really have the power, guts and good techniques to copy a "Diva" especially "gay" impersonators whose voice/looks match a lot to the "diva" they imitate...

Regine Velasquez is really an inspiration to every one of us, we are a fan who really see to it that we are updated and we want to listen to her songs.

Regine is an ICON to everyone of us, male or female, young as 3 years old and rich or poor.

Regine as an "ultimate icon", many fans of Regine sing songs of their idol but not through imitating every word, timbre and vocal acrobatics of Regine.

For sure Regine herself appreciates those who impersonate her...

Here are three of many impersonators of Regine, they are really fans of the songbird and they are so talented!!

It's up to you to decide!!!

When you're Regine Velasquez, not even a "lost" minus one will stop you from giving a great performance. Regine in the Stux On You The Repeat concert in Music Museum should be performing "And I Love You So" only to find out that the music that was played is not the minus one version. She doesn't know how to lipsync, she joked. After some minutes af ad libs and reminiscing their "pre-stardom" days, the group finally decided to sing "Dito Ba" the acapella way. This song was sang by Kuh Ledesma when Kuh guested in the same concert a week ago.

Regine Velasquez is ready to give up her career to be a wife and a mother!

For the first time, Regine Velasquez bravely took the hot seat on Mo Twister's "Gimme Mo" segment in Showbiz Central last Sunday, July 19. Among the celebrities who chose the Top 5 questions for Regine are Sunshine Dizon, Dingdong Dantes, and boyfriend Ogie Alcasid, na may hanging question kung kailan ba yung time na nasabi ni Regine sa sarili niyang mahal siya nito.

"Just like any other... Lahat naman ng tao, nakakaramdan ng insecurities. That's part of who we are. Kung hindi ka mai-insecure, parang hindi mo rin mai-improve ang sarili mo. I also feel that way sometimes, but I deal with it myself, you know. I try to pinpoint kung ano yung may kulang," sagot ng Asia's Songbird.

"Well, as far as that is concerned, I don't," ani Regine. "No. Because parang wala na rin naman akong karapatan na ma-insecure. I've been in the business for a long time and God has blessed me tremendously and it's like, if I feel insecure, another singer or a new talent comes along at yun na ang papalakpakan ng mga tao, parang magagalit sa akin si God. Parang nagrereklamo ako nun. It's crazy even thinking about it.

"Yun na nga, binigyan ako ng time ni God. I'm still here. I still have work and there are still a lot of people who support me. So, I have no reason to feel that way as far as that is concerned."

No one in particular that makes her feel insecure?

"I'm just happy for them," sambit niya.

Of this generation, or maybe all time, is she the country's best singer?

"I cannot..." natatawa niyang sabi. "You know, I cannot, I cannot say that. You know, here in the Philippines, siguro noong magsabog si God ng talent sa acting, sa singing, sa paggawa ng kanta, lahat, everyone has to do with art, lahat sinalo nating lahat. So, I just cannot say that I'm the best, but I'm okay."

OGIE ALCASID. Everybody knows that she and Ogie are very close. Posibleng walang nag-e-expect that they will end up together as a couple.

Actually, it was really unexpected talaga for both of us, especially sa kanya because, you know, he's married and we were just really friends.

"I've known him siguro almost all my life, parang bata pa lang kami... Kasi, nauna ako sa kanyang nag-umpisa sa showbiz. Nakilala ko siya, I remember, nag-front act siya kay Dingdong [Avanzado], tapos nagpakilala siya sa akin na, 'I'm Ogie.' Actually, naalala ko, nag-date pala kami nun!"

So, may short romance pala before all of these?

"Meron... He actually watched one of my concerts and he gave me a [teddy] bear. And I don't even remember. Tapos, nag-date kami, parang group date lang naman yun. Parang hindi na agad naulit kasi parang na-weirduhan siya sa akin dahil noong bata pa ako, parang... I never really expected we'll end up together. But I always thought he's a wonderful man."

MICHELLE'S WEDDING.

"Yes, I am. Michelle and Mark [Murrow] invited both me and Ogie. So, we're going in November."

Does she have a role aside from attending, like kakanta ba siya?
"Definitely! Kasi siyempre, even if they don't ask, we'll just go up there," sagot ni Regine.

So, parang sisters na talaga sila ni Michelle?

"Yeah, and we are all very happy for them. Nakakatuwa kasi sobra nilang deserving talaga na maging happy and they deserve each other talaga."

Ogie has two kids with Michelle. Kung dumating ang panahon that she and Ogie will start a family of their own, makakaya ba ni Regine na iwanan ang career niya para magkaroon ng private life as a wife and mother?

"Yeah. Parang ano naman yun, parang given naman yun bilang babae ako. And one day, I will just take care of Ogie and, hopefully, ma-bless kami ni God ng child. I'll be happy to give everything. Tutal, ang dami ko na ring ginawa in my life, kulang na lang maging bold star!" tawa niya.

Sabi ni Mo, nai-imagine na niya kung gaano kaganda ang boses ng magiging anak nila ni Ogie.

"E, paano kung hindi namana?" natatawang sabi ni Regine bilang pangwakas.

Oh My Girl! Plus The Themesong Sung by Regine!

“Oh My Girl” is the story of two childhood best friends who are separated by fate, only to be reunited years later, worlds apart.

At the local orphanage in the sleepy town of Taal, Batangas, lived two children Opao (Judy Ann Santos) and Biboy (Ogie Alcasid) who have been each other’s soul mate and best friend for as long as they can remember. Promising to stay together forever, Biboy even makes a song that would be their way of finding each other if ever they got separated. But the real world interferes and breaks their promise. And the two orphans are torn apart.

Opao is adopted by an ambitious spinster cum former starlet, Madam Annie, whose only wish was to have a daughter who could live her failed dreams of stardom. And so she molded Opao until the fat kid with a mole on her face is transformed into DARLING the hottest superstar of today’s generation.

Biboy on the other hand was also adopted by a star – a drag queen star famous in Sampaloc Metro Manila, Crisp Pop, who is touched by the boy’s story of losing his best friend. She took Biboy in her own home and gave him a simple, decent albeit unusually colorful life as her assistant in a costume and dress shop. Biboy eventually grows up to be a small entrepreneur, running his own cell phone repair business. And one thing fo sure, Biboy has never forgotten Opao, the first and last love of his life. As he grew older he began trying to find Opao–if not literally then figuratively. -more from noypitayo.com

The Way He Makes Me Feel/ No Matter What Happens (Yentl)

Yentl is a 1983 American film from United Artists, and directed, co-written, co-produced and starring Barbra Streisand based on a play by Leah Napolin and Isaac Bashevis Singer, itself based on Singer's short story "Yentl the Yeshiva Boy". The dramatic story incorporates humor and music to relate the odyssey of a Jewish girl in Poland who decides to dress and live like a man so she can receive an education in Jewish Talmudic Law after her father dies. The film's musical score and songs, composed by Michel Legrand, is memorable for the songs "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" and "The Way He Makes Me Feel", both sung by Streisand.

"The Way He Makes Me Feel" is the title of a popular song from 1983 performed by Barbra Streisand. The song is featured in the film adaptation of the play Yentl, in which Streisand starred and sang most of the music. The lyrics were by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, with music by Michel Legrand.

Along with another song from Yentl ("Papa, Can You Hear Me?"), "The Way He Makes Me Feel" was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Original Song; however, both tunes lost the Oscar to "Flashdance...What a Feeling" by Irene Cara.

"The Way He Makes Me Feel" was released as a single in a slightly different and more contemporary version than the one on the soundtrack to the film. It reached #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spent two weeks at #1 on the adult contemporary chart.[1] This was Streisand's eighth (and, to date, final) #1 song on the Billboard adult contemporary chart.

Released on LP in November of 1983 and CD on October 25, 1990. Produced by Barbra Streisand and Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Arranged and conducted by Michel Legrand. Music by Michel Legrand. Lyrics by Alan & Marilyn Bergman.-Wikipedia

Regine Velasquez extends support to former rival Eva Castillo in SRO Cinemaserye

Regine Velasquez's role in the rediscovery of former archrival Eva Castillo continues. This time around, the Asia's Songbird will portray herself in GMA-7's upcoming SRO Cinemaserye Presents: The Eva Castillo Story, which will premiere on July 23.

Eva and Regine had a long history together as the two were considered the toughest rivals during their amateur singing days, with the former emerging triumphant on most occasions. Regine, however, turned out to be more successful in her efforts to penetrate mainstream show business; while Eva's troubled personal life doomed what supposed to be a promising singing career.

The two were reunited just recently when Regine staged a homecoming concert in Bulacan, titled Roots to Riches. But instead of a renewed rivalry, friendship between the former stage competitors was rekindled with Regine going the extra mile by extending a helping hand to Eva and regain her childhood dream.

"Sinusuportahan ko talaga siya [Eva], sa career niya, sa ginagawa niya. Sana magtuluy-tuloy talaga. I've heard na maraming mga tao ang interesado talaga sa kanya," Regine told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Press) and other entertainment reporters earlier today, July 17, at the presscon of SRO Cinemaserye Presents: The Eva Castillo Story.

For someone who knew Eva during the time she was actively showcasing her singing talent, Regine confessed feeling sad when she saw her former stage nemesis again after years of constant struggle.

"'Yong mga unang kita pa lang namin, lagi siyang umiiyak," she said. "Pero ngayon, nakita ko, I always say nga na the first time na nagkita kami after ilang years I can really see how sad she was—ang baba talaga ng self-esteem. But now after Roots to Riches, I came home from the States nakita ko siya sa SOP and iba na siya. Meron na siyang glow, nagti-twinkle na ang kanyang mga eyes."

HAPPY FOR OGIE. Regine also couldn't contain her happiness with the current success of boyfriend Ogie Alcasid's acting career, both in television and the big screen.

Ogie's upcoming movie, OMG (Oh My Girl), will be shown this coming July 29.

"Natutuwa ako kasi successful siya sa kanyang movie career ngayon. Natatandaan ko kasi medyo pinag-uusapan namin 'yan lagi. Kasi, di ba, dati mas nag-concentrate siya sa pelikula? Mas marami nga siyang movie sa akin, e. Nag-movie siya with Bong [Revilla], Daboy [Rudy Fernandez]... ang dami niyang pelikula before. Sila pa noon ni Michelle [Van Eimeren], sila ni Michael V, ang dami-dami niyang movie, and then I think he got tired and then he wanted to concentrate on singing.

"Tapos ngayon naman na parang okay na siya sa singing career niya, he wanted to go back to movies. Pero parang he's feeling bad, kasi 'yong tamang project, hindi dumadating sa kanya," Regine said.

All of that changed last year when Ogie was casted in the second installment of Regal Entertainment's Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Desperadas 2, along with Ruffa Gutierrez, Iza Calzado, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Marian Rivera.

Curiously, Ogie's role in OMG! somehow resembles his Desperadas 2 character based on the fact that the talented comedian-singer will once again assume the role of a woman.

"Kaya lang, nakakatawa kasi puro babae 'yong role na napupunta sa kanya! Sabi ko, 'Puwede 'yong next role mo, lalaki ka naman?' Baka naku-confuse ka na!'" chuckled Regine.
"But I'm really happy for him. Sana panoorin ninyong lahat 'yong OMG!. It's a beautiful love story more than anything else but it's also very funny," said the Asia's Songbird, who has a cameo role in the said movie.

Regine Slams Those Who Discriminate Her On The Web

She has been called a “has-been,” “blimp,” “shrieking diva,” and even more stomach-turning names in many chat rooms and fora in the Internet.

The bloggers and chatters who wrote these didn’t think their comments would reach her. Didn’t think it would wound her.

But they did.

In an exclusive interview with Manila Bulletin Online, Songbird Regine Velasquez finally addressed her detractors in the Internet:

“I have kept silent about this for so long, but I think it’s time that I speak up.

“It’s okay to have an opinion…okay to criticize. Pero minsan ay may mga nababasa ako sa Internet about me na below the belt na. Na tipong gusto ko na lang mamatay dahil sa sakit. Or they make me feel as if I am so inadequate…as if I amount to nothing.

“I’m not taking these things against them. Siguro 'yon lang ang way nila nang pag-relate sa tao. Or yun ang outlet nila; yun nga lang, at my expense. Sometimes, they make it seem as if I have no right to be in this business. Kahit na ba yung iba sa kanila, di pa ipinapanganak ay kumakanta na ako.

“It’s really sad. Obviously these people don’t know me – don’t know the real me. Sobrang nakaka-break ng heart kasi some of them don’t even know ang mga pinaghirapan ko to get to where I am. Ang alam lang nila ay di sila naniniwala sa akin.

“Yung career ko, okay lang yon kung di sila naniniwala dun. If they don’t think I’m a good singer, that’s fine. It’s a matter of taste. Kahit papaano naman ay meron ding naniniwala that I’m a good singer.

“Yung pesonal na tira ang masakit. They’re so negative. Tumaba lang ako ng konti, titirahin. Minsan, pati pamilya ko, dinadamay na din. Masakit.

“The Internet is such a powerful medium. Pag may naisulat ka doon, hindi mo na matatanggal 'yon at pwedeng mabasa ng lahat. At pag nabasa na ng lahat, nasa ulo na 'yon ng tao, kahit na hindi totoo.

“Ang laki-laki ng power ng Internet. There’s this one episode in ‘The Tyra Banks Show’ na ikinalungkot ko after kong mapanood. It’s about this girl who met a guy through the Internet. Dahil hindi mataas ang self-esteem nung bata ay she believed everything the guy told him.

“Then one day, bigla na lang tumigil ang pag-email sa kanya nung guy. When he finally emailed again, ang sabi niya ay ayaw niya na dun sa girl kasi pangit daw yung girl at saka mataba. Kaya later, nung naiwang mag-isa yung girl sa bahay, nagpakamatay siya.

“Which brings me to my point: Why would you want to be responsible for somebody’s death? Or hurt feelings? Why can’t you be responsible with what you say or write? Pwede naman.

“Do we really need this negativity? With all the bad things already happening in the world – do we really (need) this? How sad.

“Yung mga reporters na nagsusulat ng ‘negative’ sa akin, naiintindihan ko dahil trabaho 'yon. They’re just trying to hype up a project or to cast their articles from a catchy angle. Trabaho 'yon at hindi lang dahil gusto nilang gawin.

“Do I sometimes feel the need to defend myself when I read such comments in the Internet? Minsan, oo, gusto kong depensahan ang sarili ko. To tell the truth and set the record straight. Pero hindi ko ginagawa. Para ano pa? What I say won’t matter to them. It won’t make a difference because they’ve made up their minds to bash me.

“Sa mga mahilig naman mag-compare ng mga artista in a negative way, please think about this: Sisikat naman ang alaga o iniidolo mo kahit wala kang hilahin pababa. Kung yun ang destiny niya at magaling naman talaga siya ay sisikat siya.

“Let’s be responsible bloggers or chatters kasi di natin alam kung sino ang nagbabasa ng isinusulat natin na lumalabas sa Internet. At kahit na ba totoo ang isinulat mo, we should know where to draw the line kasi baka nakakasira na tayo ng buhay.

“Sana mag-encourage na lang tayo ng tao. Sana piliin natin na maging positive kesa ang maging negative.

“Again, I am not taking it against these people. I also don’t think they are bad people. I just think they are not fully aware of what they are doing. Or they don’t know any better kung pano mailabas ang saloobin nila responsibly.

“Lahat naman tayo, bilang matitinong tao, ay ayaw makasakit ng ibang tao. But we sometimes do so kahit na ba unintentionally or unknowingly.Ang tanong, gusto ba talaga nating maging ganoong klaseng tao?”

...more about Are you the Next Big Star? and Regine....Most Requested plus a whole lot more!

What makes a star for Regine Velasquez..With more than two decades in the entertainment business, Regine Velasquez has earned for herself many titles – a Diva, Asia’s Songbird and a Concert Queen among others. But the title that all Filipinos have for her is that Regine Velasquez is simply a star!

But what makes a star or a big star for that matter?

The initial reply of Regine Velasquez, who also hosts the GMA-7 star search TV show aptly entitled “Are You The Next Big Star?” aired every Saturday night, is a dumbfounded look and a shrug after groping for an answer.

“Ang hirap kasing ma-define what a star is,” she quipped. “I really don’t know how to answer that. Paano ba? Are you born to be a star and that’s your destiny? Or do you grow into it and you develop it? I don’t know how or what makes a big star.”

Among the essential ingredients though that she sees fit in becoming a star is first having the talent or gift from God of singing.

“So it is really up to you how you use it. Maraming nagsasabi na yung star daw ay may ‘it’ or ‘X-factor’ but we don’t really know what that is,” she sighed. She added that having the right “personality” in the business is also a big factor in becoming a star because it would translate to how the people would relate to a talent or singer. She believes that there are many talented singers in the country but not everyone is given the opportunity to be called a “star.”

“I’m not saying I’m a star but to get where I am now, it wasn’t an easy thing for me to do. Dusa talaga,” she smiled. “It was fun and it was okay because I felt I had to go through that for me to also enjoy and appreciate what I have. Pero I don’t know really what happened to me, siguro isang araw people would start relating to me.”

She recalled that first she was just doing concerts and she was most of the time, of course, far from the people she was singing to because she was on the stage. So she knew people couldn’t relate well to her because they were far from each other. Then she started doing movies and then she had music videos where people could see her more closely. Then she was given the chance to host “SOP” which was a variety show and more people related well to her.

“It’s really a lot of factors in becoming a star. It really depends on the person. You have to exert effort to show what talents you have,” she said.

Does she feel that the contestants of “Are You The Next Big Star?” have the makings of being a “big star?”

“Kung potential lang, marami and kung talent lang, marami rin. It would really depend on them how they would use their talents. GMA Network naman talaga is giving them the chance. It’s really up to them,” she replied. “Isa-isa lang daw ang lumalabas na star per generation, yun ang sabi nila.”

on Regine...Most Requested

At the moment, what Regine is also busy with is her preparation for her upcoming concert entitled “Most R equested,” a two-night show at the Skydome, SM North EDSA set on Aug. 1 and 8.

Produced by Viva Concerts & Events, “Regine’s Most Resquested” is also deemed her homecoming to Viva. Vic del Rosario, CEO of Viva Communications, Inc., expressed, “Regine is a Viva star and she started her recording career with us right after she won in ‘Hamon Sa Kampeon’ in the ’80s. Viva was also instrumental in making her successful movies. It was also with us where she first hosted a talent show called ‘Star for a Night.’ We’re happy that she is kicking-off our series of shows at the Skydome of SM North EDSA.”

So what should people expect from her upcoming concert?

“These are the songs requested lagi sa radio, not necessarily my songs or mga songs requested for me to sing… we’re planning to do a tribute to Michael Jackson, after all his songs were also most requested before. Of course I’ll be singing some of my songs na most requested din sa akin,” she revealed.

She added that there will also be a repertoire of most requested band songs and she would like to have a repertoire of most requested “Pinoy Jukebox Songs” which she would like to sing with her special guest Eva Castillo whom she rediscovered recently. Eva Castillo and Regine were constant rivals in various amateur singing contests in the past.

Aside from her concert, she will also be doing a cameo in the movies “Kimy-Dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme,” the launching movie of Eugene Domingo by Joyce Bernal and “Oh My Girl,” the film of her beau Ogie Alcasid and Judy Ann Santos from Regal Films. She would also be singing the theme song of “OMG.”

“Regine’s Most Requested” is the start of the Viva Concert series at SM North EDSA’s Skydome. Next in line will be “Back2Back: True Faith and South Border” on Aug. 7, then Basil Valdez and Joey Albert, Ladies of the ’90s (Geneva Cruz, Jessa Zaragosa, Rachel Alejandro and Roselle Nava), Rachelle Ann Go and Jed Madela among others.
